Plane of Choice for Many Beginners

Electric parkflyers are among the most popular and fun RC planes for beginners. Small, lightweight and easy to fly, parkflyers are responsible for introducing thousands of new pilots to radio control aviation. In the “old” days, even lower-end RC planes cost hundreds of dollars. Once you purchased one, it took days to assemble, working from page after page of detailed instructions. Today, you can still drop a chunk of change and build from scratch, but most newcomers start with inexpensive Ready to Fly aircraft like parkflyers. Today, air modeling is within reach of almost everyone. Ready to Fly (RTF) parkflyers with everything you need sell for well under $200.00.

No Steep Learning Curve

From a very early age we dream of flying, and RC aviation is a terrific vehicle for realizing that dream. As a hobby, air modeling offers many rewards. Thrilling and fun to share, it is also educational, especially for the younger set. Learning to fly remote control once required a steep learning curve and hours of practice, but parkflyers and similar RC planes for beginners are truly designed for beginners. The idea is to get flying as quickly as possible, and RTF parkflyers are easy enough for 8 and older to fly. When it comes to flying spaces, there are a variety of options with parkflyers. RC club fields are great but parkflyers can also be flown in large backyards, sports fields, public parks and even suitable indoor spaces.

Parkflyers are available as fixed wing (airplanes) and rotary (helicopters)aircraft. Both types are typically small and lightweight, slow-flying and stable, making them excellent RC planes for beginners. If you can play video games, you can fly electric parkflyers. The controls on the transmitter are worked like joysticks to send messages to the receiver. The receiver then relays signals to the aircraft's control surfaces, instructing them to move up or down, left or right.

Fast and with all the moves!

Technology Improves, Prices Come Down

Improvements in battery design mean longer RC flying times. With lithium polymer (LiPo) cells, planes can fly for 15 minutes or more at a stretch.  Advances in transmitter technology, most notably the introduction of spread spectrum band radios, make it possible for more than one pilot to operate in the same area, virtually eliminating concerns over frequency control and interference. Progress will continue on both the technology and pricing fronts and the best is yet to come. RC planes for beginners are fun, easy to fly and affordable—so what are you waiting for?
